ARK Jammers Achievements

The ARK Jammers activities caught the attention of the international media, expanding the reach of the organization's work, and bringing in partnership requests from countries as far apart as Brazil and Nigeria, Jamaica and France.

CAMERACTION FOR PEACE

CAMERACTION For Peace is a solidarity movement inviting Cameroonian youth to greater citizen service, for the preservation of peace, unity and national integrity. This national, apolitical campaign is the second act of the CAMERACTION program, launched in 2013 to inspire a new spirit of service and citizen responsibility among the youth in Cameroon, and to cultivate a new generation of engaged cameroonians.

ARK Jammers Connection (a trailblazer in mobilizing Cameroon youth for the preservation of peace, unity, and national integrity) & CEPCA (the Cameroon national Protestant Churches organization which spearheads the national inter-faith dialogue and peace program) will work in synergy to engage Cameroonian youth as an instrument of peace and a primary partner in the fight against violent extremism.

COUNTERING VIOLENT EXTREMISM (CVE)

ARK Jammers is part of an international network united in countering violent extremism, including more than 65 governments, civil society representatives from over 50 countries, two dozen private sector leaders, Secretaries General from the UN and a half-dozen regional organizations, the World Bank, and the World Economic Forum. ARK Jammers was invited to White House Summit and the US Department Ministerial Meeting on CVE, in Washington DC – February 19, 2015.

STRONG CITIES NETWORK

ARKJAMMERS is working to connect Cameroonian cities to the Strong Cities Network. The goal is to strengthen strategic planning and practices among local government representatives and build the capacity of local practitioners to prevent the spread of violent extremism. It is the first global network of local authorities united in building community resilience to violent extremism in all forms.

MOTHER OF HUMANITY®  MONUMENT  PROJECT (Since February 2015)

A global initiative has been launched in the US to build a 312-foot bronze tour-monument (The Mother of Humanity®  Monument (MoH) - three times the size of the Statue of Liberty that France offered to the United States in the 19th century to celebrate the end of slavery in America. The monument represents an African woman standing on a globe with her left hand holding a feather, symbol of peace, and her right hand outstretched in a welcome gesture. It symbolizes the original African mother who has given birth to all nations on Earth, and it is a gift from the people of the United-States of America to the people of Africa. The MoH®  Monument will be the tallest bronze monument in Africa, and the only one in the world to celebrate humanity’s origin and migration out of Africa, and give thanks to Africa and its people for their immense contribution to the construction of the world.

ARK Jammers is a proud Benevolent Partner of the MoH® Monument Foundation in this global initiative. The organization offers benevolent assistance to the MoH®  Monument Foundation in many fields including: Communication Strategy, Lobbying, Project Branding and Management, Anthropology, Education and Research, Music and Arts, Architectural Design, Homeland Security.

We have always kept an eye on the intellectual dimension and empirical basis of the work we engage in. We organized two important conferences with the objective of seeking a deeper understanding of topical issues such as the forced movement of people across oceans during the slave trade, and the science of DNA testing:

Conference on Ancestry Reconnection in Yaoundé Cameroon (December 2011)

Ancestry Reconnection Program (ARP)

The ARP was launched in three phases, the first involving a DNA Reveal ceremony, the second a certificate delivery event, and the third, a trip to their ancestral home for descendants of former slaves:

The African Ancestry - We are Africa Tour - Held at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington DC. in February 2010 during which DNA results for some prominent African Americans were revealed.

Cameroon's 50th Independence Anniversary Celebration - The ARK Jammers helped organize and performed for this celebration; we organized a special event during the ceremonies for 25 African Americans whose DNA has traced their origins to Cameroon. All 25 of our guests received a recognition certificate from the hands of the Cameroon Ambassador during a highly emotional "Welcome to Cameroon" ceremony.

Ancestry Reconnection Program/Cameroon 2010 - During this special edition of our ARP, we offered 53 African Americans who had traced their origins to Cameroon through DNA testing, the historic opportunity to visit the land of their ancestors. Along the way, we sought to promote global solidarity by encouraging the modern African Diaspora in the United States to give back to their host country, and to help make a difference in the lives of children in need.
